Key points
- Automatic driving lessons across Solihull.
- Manual and automatic both £35/hr.
- Lessons planned around your test centre's roads.
- Free DriveSQ Student Portal with every lesson.
Automatic driving lessons in Solihull cost exactly the same as manual with SQ: £35 an hour. No clutch, no stalling — just steering, observation and decision-making, which is what the test is really about.
Why learners in Solihull choose automatic
- Roundabouts. Shirley's routes are full of them. Without a clutch, you can give every roundabout your full attention.
- Stop-start traffic. The A34, A41 and A45 at rush hour are much less tiring in an automatic.
- Nerves. Removing stalling removes one of the biggest worries.
- Electric future. Electric cars are automatic. More and more new drivers never need a manual.
The catch
Pass in an automatic and your licence only covers automatics. If you'll need to drive a manual (some work vans, cheaper older cars), learn manual. Not sure? Read manual vs automatic.
How many hours?
Many learners need fewer hours in an automatic than in a manual, but the DVSA's average of about 45 hours is a sensible planning figure. Use our timeline planner.
