Driving lessons for people who work at Trafford Park (Trafford, M17). One of Europe's biggest industrial estates — lorries, roundabouts and shift traffic make it serious practice.

- Pick-up from work or home — wherever it's safe and legal to stop.
Learning to drive around Trafford Park
M17 is Trafford Park — one of Europe's largest industrial estates — plus the Trafford Centre. Very few people live here, but thousands work here, so we mostly pick up from workplaces before or after shifts.
Local hotspots we teach
- Lorries turning left. Big lorries swing wide and have large blind spots. We teach you to hang back and never squeeze down the inside.
- Trafford Centre roundabouts. Busy at weekends and in the run-up to Christmas. We practise them at quieter times first.
About Sale test centre
Sale test centre is on Poplar Grove, a short walk from Sale town centre and close to Brooklands. It serves almost all of Trafford and parts of south Manchester. Routes typically leave along Cross Street, the A56 through the middle of Sale, so the first few minutes of every test are on one of the busiest roads in the borough.
Where learners slip up at Sale
- Driving in a bus lane during its hours. Washway Road's bus lanes have set times. Entering one when it's in operation is a fault — and a fine after you pass. How we fix it: Read the blue sign for times every time; if in doubt, stay out.
- Moving off too early at junctions. Emerging onto the A56 or Dane Road before a safe gap, forcing others to slow. How we fix it: Wait until you're sure. Undue hesitation is a smaller risk than pulling out in front of someone.
