Key points
- Lessons around your working hours.
- Pick-up from work or home.
- Learn your own commute.
- Practise on West Didsbury test routes.
Driving lessons for people who work at Roundthorn Industrial Estate (Wythenshawe, M23). Shift workers in Wythenshawe; Princess Parkway and the M56 are close for later lessons.
Lessons that fit your work
- Shift-friendly: early mornings, late afternoons and days off — tell us your rota.
- Pick-up from work or home — wherever it's safe and legal to stop.
Local hotspots we teach
- Princess Parkway (A5103). A fast dual carriageway linking Wythenshawe to the city and the M56. We practise joining, keeping a safe gap and leaving at the right junction.
- Wythenshawe roundabouts. Lots of roundabouts, some with several lanes. You'll learn lane choice and signals until they're automatic.
Roads on West Didsbury test routes
- A5103 Princess Road / Princess Parkway — The dual-carriageway spine of south Manchester. Joining it from side roads, choosing a lane early and holding steady speed between sets of lights is where most faults happen.
- A5145 Barlow Moor Road — Runs right past the centre. Busy traffic-light junctions — including the one with Princess Road — and buses stopping and pulling out.
- A6010 Wilbraham Road — Reported on route sheets with turns on and off at traffic lights. Several lanes at junctions and lots of pedestrians near Chorlton.
More West Didsbury faults to avoid
- Meeting traffic on Mauldeth Road West. Committing into a gap between parked cars when an oncoming car has priority. How we fix it: Plan which gap you'll wait in, hold back early, and don't wave others through.
- Pedestrians on Burton Road. Driving at the speed limit past crowded pavements and crossings. How we fix it: Slow down for the conditions, cover the brake near crossings, and watch for people between parked cars.
Roads on Sale test routes
- A56 Cross Street — Many reported routes leave the centre and join Cross Street. Busy through-traffic, bus stops and traffic lights from the first minute.
- A56 Washway Road — The A56 south of Sale town centre. Bus lanes with set hours, speed-limit changes and cameras — read every sign.
- A56 Chester Road — Continues north towards Stretford, with faster sections and multi-lane junctions.
