Getting to work at JLR Solihull
The 300-acre plant — JLR's largest — builds Range Rover models. Older reports put the workforce at 9,000–10,000, and JLR has described a three-shift, 24-hour pattern five days a week.
Shifts that start or end outside bus hours. Lode Lane has camera-enforced bus lanes and new Sprint signals; JLR also has entrances on Damson Parkway.
Shift-friendly lessons
- 2-hour lessons on days off to make faster progress.
- Never straight after a night shift — tiredness slows reactions (see our stopping distance calculator).
